The sexy pop diva Britney Spears hits the tabloids with sensational confession: she is pregnant! The girl, whose life has been in the limelight ever since her sizzling debut with “Baby, One More Time,” revealed the reason behind months of tabloid speculations.

The news came on Tuesday with a small announcement on singer’s official Web site www.britneyspears.com:

"The time has finally come to share our wonderful news that we are expecting our first child together,” she said. “There were reports that I was in the hospital this weekend. Kevin and I just want everyone to know that all is well. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Love Britney and Kevin."

Her publicist, Sonia Muckle, confirmed the singer's pregnancy, but gave no further details.

The baby will be the first-born for the 23-year-old Spears, but the third for her husband, Kevin Federline, who already has two children with his former girlfriend, actress Shar Jackson.

The happy future parents met last year when Federline was a backup dancer on her tour. They begun going out meanwhile Jackson was pregnant with Federline’s son.

They married in September 2004, after only six-months of dating, in a secret ceremony. Eight months before the “Toxic” star wed her former high school sweetie Jason Alexander in Las Vegas, but the marriage was annulled in 55 hours, AP reports.

Although Spears has been married for less than a year, the singer has already revealed her desire to “start a family," as she wrote on her web site last fall.  

 Spears is reportedly 4 months pregnant and is expecting a girl.
