Former Spice Girl and fashion industry novice Victoria Beckham urges Chinese people to show more love and care for children stricken with leukemia.

The wife of stylish soccer icon David, who is expecting her third child, will appear in a 60-second TV spot with 10 young Shanghai leukemia patients, reports the Shanghai Daily. According to the paper, Victoria agreed to appear in the commercial when she recently attended a modeling contest in the city.

“What Victoria displays to the public is not only her personal charm as an international superstar, but also the image of a loving mother, ” Ma Zhongqi, a spokesman for Shanghai Charity Foundation told the Shanghai Daily.

“With her performance, we hope to spread the love from Shanghai to the whole world.”

During the 10 years since it was founded, the organization has raised about $120 million for about 50 charity projects.
